Celebrity Spotlight (A New Series)

Hi Everyone,

I am going to start a new series called Celebrity Spotlight. I admit it, in my spare time, I oogle over celebs and what they're up to. When I'm stuck in a long line at the grocery store I do pick up the tabloids and browse around. I don't really read the stories, I only glance at the pictures for the makeup, hair, clothes, etc...so I decided that I'm going to start a series on celebs that are totally rockin' when it comes to beauty, hair, and fashion, minus the couple setbacks we all have once in awhile (no one's perfect, we've all had moments where we thought we were rockin' a look and we just looked like a rock was thrown at us). Because seriously, in Tinseltown, you've gotta have that more than anything else, even talent. :P So this week....I'm going to shine the spotlight down on....Taylor Swift!!!

She's the newest celebrity working for CoverGirl, so to add to that, I'm going to give her my first spotlight. There's no doubt about her look. She's got that sweet, girl next door, and sex kitten vibe going on. When she first came on the scene, she usually went for a light eye makeup look and a soft pink lip. Her eyes are just a tiny bit smaller, however, her makeup artist is able to really make them sparkle in very many different ways. Whether she's rocking neutrals, the smoky eye, or colors, there's no doubt that her looks are definitely one of the most re-created out there. I really loved her look in her video, Picture to Burn. The smoky eye definitely looks good on her. The song has a sense of attitude to it and the rest of her look topped it off perfectly (see picture below)!

Taylor has a magnificent sense of style. Like most celebrities, I'm sure that she has stylists to help her look good but even then, she HAS TO HAVE a say in what she will actually put on. No matter how "fashionable" anything is, one should always make sure they look good in it before struttin' it out there. Take a look at the picturs below. I love the simple skinny leg. Since she is quite tall, the skinny leg looks very flattering on her. The ruffle shirt pulls everything together to give a relaxed, yet stylish vibe. And as far as accessories go, her perfect accessory in this picture are definitely the red lips and the red hat. Simply beautiful!

Whether she's just hanging out in the city or at award shows, her style is always so chic. Check out one of my favorite dresses she's worn on the right. I love how simple, yet elegant she looks in this dress. It's so very age appropriate and hugs her silhouette in all the right places. The golden undertone contrasts so well with it's black counterparts and drapes down her slim body and turns darker towards the mermaid-style train. The black lining on top defines the dress, even the mesh towards the straps. Also, I don't know if anyone has noticed this, but in this particular look, she looks so sexy and in my opinion, I say it's because of her décolletage. You know that old saying, "Leave something to the imagination"? Or "Always leave them wanting more"? This is the perfect example. You don't need to flaunt everything. She looks super gorgeous without trying too hard. A look that everyone needs to master! She definitely stands out against the bright red carpet too, don't you think? Absolutely stunning!

And of course, Miss Swift's signature is definitely her hair. Although she's known for those luscious curls, she has switched it up. She has it straight! I LOOVVEEDDD the look on her and I barely even recognized her! But that is how fashion goes though...stay with the classics, but rev it up every once in awhile. The straight across bangs do very well for her and somehow slenderizes her face and makes her cheekbones stand out even more (in a good way!). Absolutely adorable, check it out below:

In this picture to the left, Taylor is rocking the deep and thick black eyeliner. Since her bangs hang lower to her eyes, it really contrasts with the black to make the eyes stand out even more. I always, always recommend overdoing just ONE feature on your face. In this look, she chose to go with her eyes and it worked perfectly for her.  The pink lip and the light pink cheeks are enough to stand out but subtle enough to draw focus only her eyes. I swear, I had to do a double take when I saw her on that awards show. LOVE IT!

In the photo to the right, she goes for almost the same makeup but she is more peach-ier when it comes to the lips and face. The eyeliner is not as intense as the picture above, but dark enough that it still stands out. This look is more of a softer, romantic look. The makeup matches the mood that the dress displays, which is key! I don't recommend going with a soft, date night dress, and wearing an uber colorful palette all over your face. You want to keep the tone the same throughout. By all means, throw your personality in there, but make it suit the occasion. However, there is no doubt that this look suits her very well. Props to her makeup artist, hair stylist, and wardrobe stylist! An excellent, polished look all the way around!

In addition to her lovely songs (Back to December is my favorite right now!), she sure knows how to rock the triple threat. She is transitioning into a woman from her teens and she is doing so in a tastefully and classy way. Taylor will always be a style icon. From her subtle and charming looks to her bold and daring getups, this is one star who rarely doesn't look good in anything she has on. Great job!

Side Note: This isn't related to her style, but I just have to mention....I was so excited when she and Taylor Lautner were dating. When they announced their split, I was soo sad...Hahaha..I know, I know, but I was so hoping they were going to last. It was like when Nick and Jessica broke up. OMG..memories..well, we'll always have this picture. (Oh, and look at her shirt...super cute!)
