No Buy Resolution - 2011

Every year, almost everyone sets forth a list of goals or as they're known, resolutions. Each year, most people repeat the ones from last year that they failed miserably at. I am one of those people. LOL.

So this year, my top two are probably the most common ones, and I'm doing well twelve days into the year. My resolutions are: 1. Lose Weight and 2. Save Money! Well, my friends, I am happy to report that I am 3.6 lbs lighter :) and as I sat thinking about what I can do to help aid in my saving money plan, I came across a thread online about participating in a year-long no buy. Basically, a no-buy is a promise to oneself to NOT BUY any new item until you've used up all of what you have already. So, I took a long and hard look into what areas of my life that I could incorporate that into, and it just kept going back to makeup...so my friends, I am here to announce that in an effort to save more money this year, I am going to participate in a Cosmetics No Buy program. To help me realize how much money I'm going to save on it, I'm going to tally up the cost (plus tax!) of each item that I would've purchased. My goal is to use ALL of my products before purchasing a new one. I know I'm not the only girl that has a bunch of eyeshadows, so instead of purchasing a new set, I'm going to use all of my sets first. For example, if I run out of black eye shadow in one palette, then I'll use the black from another, and so on. It will definitely be more challenging for me, but you know what? I think I may have enough eyeshadow to last me for a couple of years if they don't go bad (LOL).

So, to keep my blog interesting, I'm going to continue with my Spotlight on Celebrities series and will be posting up more tutorials, especially with tips for people with monolids (like me). Also, I will be adding more hair and other tutorials real soon. And of course, I will be ranting and raving about my no-buy process. Lets keep our fingers crossed! And if you're going to do that too, best of luck and let me know how you're doing with it.

Here's to a new (and less weight but more money!) year!!!
