Golden Globes 2011 - Top Ten Worst Dressed List

Hello hello!

So..as we all know, the Golden Globes Awards were held this past weekend. Of course, being a makeup and fashion junkie, I HAD to put in my two cents. I really, really refrained, but I guess I just can't be silenced. So in order to make these posts not so long, I'm going to break it down to two parts. First lets start off with the Worst Dressed List. Here's my countdown from "Ok, but not their best" to "Did you look in the mirror before you left?".

#10 - Lea Michele in Oscar De La Renta

Alright, normally, I'm beyond wowed by Ms. Michele. But, it is for her voice. Although she's young and cute, I think she's been able to pull off better choices. I'd like to have seen her in something more svelte, fitting, and sleek. I think this dress is too '80's prom for me. I don't like the way how it makes her look bigger than she really is, and it really looks like a huge pink marshmallow. Also after reviewing some other pictures, it looks like she's always holding the dress. Maybe it's just too much material for her to be literally carrying around. Not a fan of this dress :(

#9 - Halle Berry in Nina Ricci

Okay...I don't believe this is really appropriate for the Globes. It is an upscale awards ceremony and I really think this was not appropriate. It looks like a bustier and a slip with some shear black material. Also, I'd like to see Halle with LONGER hair. It just feels like she's been rocking this hairstyle for WAYYY too long. She's a gorgeous lady, but not a fan of this ensemble.

#8 - Heidi Klum in Marc Jacobs

Once again, TOO CASUAL. YOU'RE GOING TO THE GOLDEN GLOBES!!! I'm so disappointed in Heidi Klum. Not only does this dress look horrible her makeup isn't all that great either. Heidi can usually pull off one of the two, but in this case I think she totally clashed with both. The lipstick matches the pink of the dress too much and it just doesn't look good. Sorry, but I've seen her look better. This is not one of her best looks.

#7 - Christina Aguilera in Zuhair Murad

Okay, let's just start off with her cheeks. Why in the world did she inject collagen in it? I find NOTHING hot or sexy about over-inflated cheeks. Not only that, this dress looks way too tight on her. Especially in the boobie area. The cup size looks way too small for her large breast-es, and that is never a sexy look. The lace over beige just looks very 2000. It just doesn't look good. Plus the hair is too plain, it doesn't look "special" enough. Christina, lately, hasn't been winning on my list she needs to really look back on her earlier days pre-Dirrrty (or however, she spelled it).

#6 - Jennifer Lopez in Zhuhair Murad

Arrggghhh...oh Jenny, Jenny, Jenny. I know you make lots of money, you just got a new gig on American Idol, you made bank by selling pictures of your twins. You had an okay music career, a promising movie career. I know you must have some stylists, makeup artists, hairstylists, A WHOLE TEAM to make you look good. Why on earth would you let them have you step out in this? You look like an old grandma trying to be sexy. C'mon girl, you had style, what happened to it?
#5 - Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace

Although her moments with Brad were cute and tender at the awards show, this dress is absolutely horrible. A lot of entertainment shows and magazines are raving about this dress, but the only thing remarkable about it, is the color. I ADORE the color, but I can't stand the design style, and worst of all, the high neck and long sleeves. I'm sorry, but I'm just not feeling it. Angie has done so much better in the past before AND after Brad. However, lately, she's been in this slump. Lately, it's all these conservative dresses and although some of them look fitting for the occasion, it's starting to get boring. She doesn't need to skank it up (a la Christina Aguilera or Halle Berry), but then again, she doesn't need to show in something that Betty White would wear either. C'mon Angie, you can do better!

#4 - Julianna Margulies in a vintage YSL

First, let me start off by saying I LOVE Julianna (in fact, I might name my first daughter after her) and I LOVE The Good Wife. I was cheering for her to win, however, Julianna, my dear, WTF are you wearing? This dress does NOT make her body look good. She looks very slump-ish, tired, and her boobs look saggy in it. On top of that, what is up with the side drape thing? It looks like the bottom part was draped around and not flattering at all. I can't tell what her shoes look like in this picture, but doesn't look good with the dress at all. And honey, don't even get me started on the hair. But we'll just leave at this.

#3 - Sandra Bullock in Jenny Packham

Okay class, can anyone tell me what is wrong with this look? Let's look at this from head to toe. First, lets start with the hair. Reminds me of a low-key Elvira look. The bangs do not match her. Normally, full bangs look very good on almost anyone, but I don't think she was able to pull it off. Her hair looks like it was teased too much and has that Peggy Bundy, Elvira -ish feel to the crown area. The hair is too flat towards the end making the ends look frayed. Then we get to the dress. Hmm. What can I say that's nice? Well, I think I'll just stop right there.

#2 - Scarlett Johansson in Elie Saab

Bride of Frankenstein. That's what everyone was calling her hairdo. Her dress, once again looks very old-fashioned. Something that my 65 year old mother would wear. Plus, what is up with this look on her face. She looks very glum and not very interested. Granted, I know she's going through some troubling times in her personal life, but honey, if you're going to show up, even if you're sad, THIS IS THE PERFECT TIME to look HOT, not drab. Even the girl in the background looks nicer.

Finally, #1 WORST Dressed at the Golden Globes goes to.....

Ms. Tilda Swinton in Jill Sanders.
Why is it that everytime she steps out, she looks like a man? I don't understand why she dresses like this. I'm all about comfort, but c'mon, look at her heels. That is the ONLY thing that looks good on her. Also, who on earth would look at this dress and think "Yes, I look good in this". It just looks weird. Sorry Tilda, time to invest some of that good money you're making into a stylist and a very, very talented hair dresser.
